I grew up in Alsace, France and I first got to plug a '65 Strat in a Twin Reverb at age 15. I felt immediately alive like never before; I knew then I wanted to become a musician. After a college math degree to please my family, I went on to study music at CMCN, and graduated with the first prize honor in 1991.
The 90's were spent pretty much on the road all over Europe, playing and recording with many talented artists, some famous like Wanda Jackson or Charlie McCoy. In 2000, I moved to Cologne to join the 12-piece show band of Circus Roncalli, arguably the nicest and most prestigious circus show in Europe. One million spectators a year, 340 days a year on tour. Living in cool trailors, driving sports cars around the autobahn, and working with incredibly talented people from all over the world , my tenure on the guitar chair lasted 4 years.
Despite all that was going on in Europe, I always thought I was born in the wrong country for the kind of music I loved. For me, it has always been about Elvis, Motown, Texas blues, Los Angeles and Nashville studio players, Miles and Coltrane. In 2004, I felt the irresistible need to get closer to my musical roots. I dropped everything and moved to the American Deep South with a Telecaster on my back. I then discovered that music is indeed an expression of culture. Playing blues with and for the locals in the Deep South and being booked as a studio musician in Nashville were the achievement of two of my teenage dreams.
After pioneering web based audio recording technologies, and years of helping others make records, I came out with my own record in 2007. 'Riviera'. Some say this instrumental album is a unique take on guitar music. The album stayed several weeks on the best sellers list and editor's pick at cdbaby.com. Riviera led to opportunities to write music for French national TV networks like Tf1, France 2, France 3 and M6.
After 3 years spent at the crossroads down in Mississippi, I settled down in New York, close to my favorite city in the world. There are still a few more teenage dreams to chase...
